THOMPSON, Douglas Gordon (1928-2006). Peacefully on August 23rd, 2006 in his 79th year, Doug passed away after a lengthy illness, in the presence of his family. Beloved husband of Fern Thompson (nee Byron), dear father of Virginia (Bill), Carol (Robert), Lynda (Robert) and Stephen (Lyne). Loving grandfather of Robbie, Josh, Willie, Ryan, Jeremy, Aaron, Jessica, William and Victoria. Beloved son of William and Grace Thompson and late sister Blanche Majuary. He will be dearly missed by many family and friends. Special thanks to the Montfort Hospital medicine unit 4S and 4E for their care and compassion.

Resting at the Steve L. Elkas Funeral Home, 601 Conseil Street, Sherbrooke, Quebec, tel: 819-565-1155, fax: 819-820-8872. Visitation on Sunday, August 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. James G. Potter officiating. Please note that visitation on Monday will be 1 hour prior to service. Interment at the Malvern Cemetery, Lennoxville, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
