Mrs Lucie Gosselin
Montréal, June 22, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lucie Gosselin, who left us peacefully at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal on June 22, 2026, at the age of 65, surrounded by her loved ones, following a brief illness.
A resident of Montreal (LaSalle), she was the daughter of the late André Gosselin and the late Laurette Bastonnais.
She leaves behind her brothers Michel (Denyse Krywucyk), Marcel (Lise Beaulieu), and Jean-François (Nathalie Gauthier), as well as her sister-in-law Lise Fontaine, wife of the late Serge Gosselin.
She also leaves her nephews and nieces: Virginie Robitaille-Gosselin, Véronique Robitaille-Gosselin (Nicolas Henrard), Maxime Gosselin (Marie-Philippe Busque), Félix-Antoine Gosselin, Geneviève Gosselin (Rémy Bilodeau), Gabriel Gosselin, Camille-Élise Gosselin (Éric Gamache), and Louis-Philippe Gosselin.
Lucie is further mourned by many cousins from the Gosselin and Bastonnais families, and by her dear friends, whose presence and friendship meant so much to her, particularly Nicole Pépin, Christian Laforce, Chantale Arseneau, and Micheline Robitaille.
A graduate in communications from the University of Ottawa, Lucie built her career in communications and public relations within major financial institutions, including the Bank of Montreal and the Mouvement Desjardins, where she advised senior executives throughout her professional life.
A woman of heart and song, Lucie was a proud member of L’Ensemble Vocal Katimavik. She loved to laugh, to travel in good company, and to gather people around a fine table — where she was, by everyone’s account, the undisputed master of the traditional dishes once prepared by Laurette, including the famous « Gâteau Frigidaire ».
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. at the Steve L. Elkas Funeral Home, located at 601 rue du Conseil in Sherbrooke, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at St-Jean-Baptiste Church in Sherbrooke (280 rue du Conseil).
The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to the oncology and palliative care teams at the Jewish General Hospital, particularly Dr. De Gabory, for the attentive care they provided to Lucie. Heartfelt thanks also to the team at The Key — Dominique, Monique, Maryam, Widza, and Patricia — whose daily presence at Lucie’s side was a true blessing to her and to the family.
In her memory, those who wish may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Lucie’s name.
