Mrs Elizabeth Gould Redpath Ostiguy

Sherbrooke, March 2, 2026

ELIZABETH GOULD REDPATH OSTIGUY
May 26, 1929 – March 2, 2026

With the compassionate care provided by the Administration and staff of Grace Village, Sherbrooke Qc., attending to our 96-year-old mother’s need for respite care and end-of-life comfort, she peacefully came to rest, surrounded by family and friends.

We are emotionally overcome with both grief and gratitude. Memories and life-affirming experiences remind us of the love, care and beneficial influences of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, provided to our extended families and communities. Gram’lil, as she was affectionately called, was the youngest of five talented children blessed to Montrealer, Dr. Arthur Gould and the astute Florence Graham.   She was predeceased by her siblings: Graham, Helen, George and Jean; peers who became dedicated to issues of social-justice and education.

Elizabeth emerged early in her youth, as an accomplished competitive figure skater, coach and judge. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Bradford Redpath, with whom she had raised Thomas, Sandy, Ian and William, regrettably losing their two-year-old daughter Joanne.

As a young widow, Elizabeth later became a successful real estate agent and broker in Montreal and the Eastern Townships, where she met and married entrepreneur Claude Ostiguy, who predeceased her in 2002. Elizabeth enjoyed the companionship of Sherbrooke resident John Dunn, during the latter stage of her life.

Throughout her life, Elizabeth provided a leadership role as a community volunteer in the service of war veterans, and numerous charitable social welfare initiatives. Indeed, she was a woman dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of others.

Elizabeth Gould’s Christian ethics, developed through the Anglican Church which will help Celebrate her Life with a Funeral Service on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm. in St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 640 Chem. Sherbrooke,  North Hatley, Qc
