Mrs Linda Cairns Donnachie 1943-2026
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Linda Dale Donnachie (nee Cairns) on March 26th, 2026, at the Grace Village Home in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Born on May 17th, 1943, in La Tuque, Quebec. Linda was a loving wife to Blair Donnachie for nearly 61 years, a devoted mother to Michael (Kim) and Sean (Angie), a sweet Nana to Jesse and a longtime friend for too many to name. She loved reminiscing about growing up in Scottstown and sharing anecdotes about the family.
She will be remembered for her kindness, positive outlook, and for her love of flowers, the ocean and gathering with those she loved most. She is survived by her two sons and brothers, Wade and Garth Cairns. She was predeceased by her husband, her brother Terry and parents, Archie and Queenie Cairns. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will take place, Friday, April 10th at the Army Navy (the Hut) at 300 rue St. Francis in Sherbrooke from 12 to 2pm. A Reception will follow from 2pm-4pm
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Grace Village Care Foundation- https://villagegrace.ca

During our Scotstown years, Linda was a schoolmate, a playmate, a prommate and, together with her parents and siblings, a positive factor during the formative years. As we all migrated to different communities or countires, Linda and her husband, Blair, were bright anchors whenever we later met at social and community functions throughout the Eastern Townships. Linda will be endearingly remembered by her family and friends.Ian Matheson

I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. Linda was not only my office partner for many years, she was a dear friend, confident and mother figure. She guided me through the ups and downs of balancing a young family and work. Her laughter was contagious and the gentle tapping of her foot was the only indication she was annoyed. :). I enjoyed our visits at GV and the chats we had about our years in the office. She will be forever loved and missed. My sincere condolences to all the family. Jesse, your grama was so proud of you.Monetta Gallichon
