Mrs Agnes Catherine Zakaib

It is with much sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Agnes Catherine Zakaib, in Sherbrooke, Monday, March 30, 2026. Agnes was the only daughter of the late Albert Zakaib and the late Fotine Mahfouz. She was predeceased by her brother Frederick (Fred) Zakaib in 2012.
Agnes leaves to mourn treasured relatives and several devoted friends and neighbours. Special mention must be given to the mighty Rachel, to Carol Zakaib, who called Agnes faithfully every evening, and to Peter Kanadalaft for always remaining in touch, as well as to life long loyal friends Huguette and Glenroy. Precious family and friends have provided much support and companionship for Agnes over the last few years of her long life.
Visitation will be held at Fraternite Sacerdotale Saint Jean l’Evangeliste Church (the former Saint Peters Church), 200 Montreal Street (corner of Dufferin) in Sherbrooke, Monday, April 6, from 10 o’clock. The religious service will follow at 11 o’clock with Father Mark Wyatt of Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church in Montreal officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Saint Peters Cemetery, 1045 Prospect Street, Sherbrooke.
We wish to express sincere appreciation to long time family physician, Dr. Johanne Fregeau, and nurse Marie Eve Lavallee, as well as Dr. Catherine Vanasse at the Argyll Geriatric Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated by the family.
