Mr Bernard Chretien

Mr. Bernard Chrétien        1944 – 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard Chrétien. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones at the CHUS Hôtel-Dieu de Sherbrooke on March 31, 2026, at the age of 81. He was the son of the late Ulric Chrétien and the late Florida Bouffard, and the father of the late Bernard Junior.

Bernard leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Blanche Daigneault Chrétien, and his daughters, Nancy (Doug Blair) and Angela (Jeff Goodsell), as well as his four grandchildren: Megan and Leighton Blair, and Jayden and Jasmine Goodsell.

Also mourning his passing are his sisters: Hélène (Gérald), Gaëtane (Jean-Claude), and Micheline (Réal). He was the brother of the late Hazel (late Robert) and the late Maurice (Ghislaine). He was the brother-in-law of the late Betty (Arlie), Sidney (Margaret), and the late Gloria (late Al).

Bernard also leaves to mourn his nephews, nieces, other relatives, his friends from the Old Lennoxville Golf Club, as well as many friends and neighbors.

The family will welcome you at the Complexe funéraire Steve L. Elkas (4230 Bertrand-Fabi Street, Sherbrooke) on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. A celebration will follow in the chapel.

The family would like to thank the staff of 7C, Hematology-Oncology, at CHUS Fleurimont, and the palliative care team on the 6th floor of CHUS Hôtel-Dieu de Sherbrooke.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the palliative care unit at CHUS Hôtel-Dieu or the Department of Hematology-Oncology would be appreciated.
