Ronald ‘Ron’ Smith 1949 – 2025
It is with deep sadness that the family of Mr. Ronald ‘Ron’ Smith, announce his passing on Monday September 29, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by his family at the CHUS-Hotel Dieu, Sherbrooke, QC, after bravely fighting a battle with a condition for which there was no cure. He was the son of the late Frank Edgar Smith and the late Nyla Ruth White, brother of the late Errol Smith, son-in-law to the late Robert Mouland, and the husband of Donna Mouland, living in Sherbrooke.
Ron leaves in mourning his cherished wife, Donna Mouland; his loving children, Timothy Smith and Julie (Smith) Scorah and son-in-law Matthew Scorah; his grandchildren: Abigail and Emma Smith, and Evan and Chelsea Scorah; his sisters: Gail Jarvis, Sandra Mosher, and Bonnie Smith; and his brothers and sisters-in-law: Gordon Mosher, Ernest Porter, and Ronald Mouland.
Also left to mourn are his nieces and nephews, and many friends and relatives.
Family and friends will meet at the Steve L. Elkas Complex (4230 Bertrand-Fabi, Sherbrooke) on Saturday October 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with refreshments to follow. The burial will take place at the Hatley Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to give thanks for the outpouring of support from family and friends which will always be cherished and for the many wonderful hospital staff who cared for Ron.
As a memorial tribute, donations to the Wales Home Foundation and the Fondation Héma-Québec would be appreciated.
